Therapist Short Bio
Sue has a practice near Eastbourne and also offers sessions via Zoom, which her clients find just as effective.
Qualifying in 2001 as one of the first Human Givens therapists in the world, Sue has helped clients with many issues, from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities and ages (quite literally from seven to seventy).
Making use of her clients’ imaginations and cognitive minds, Sue’s style is empathetic, honest, non-judgemental and straightforward.
Therapist Long Bio
Sue believes that anyone can change their lives for the better. She provides individual counselling as well as couple and family therapy.
Because Sue believes that everyone deserves effective and speedy help with emotional issues, her clients pay according to their own financial circumstances (without any means-testing, forms to complete, questions about finances).
Each session lasts an hour or so and, because Human Givens is a brief and solution-focussed therapy, the number of sessions is kept to a minimum.
To support her clients in between sessions and going into the future, Sue provides a number of tools and often asks clients to agree to between-session "homeworks", saying “there’s no point in paying me for progress you can be making at home”.
Most of Sue’s clients are now self-referrals, having been recommended by previous clients,. Sue also receives referrals from Occupational Health Departments, the Red Poppy Company, PTSD Resolution (a charity specifically for military personnel) and other Human Givens colleagues.
Sue recognises that excellent rapport between client and therapist is essential and therefore is always happy to have an initial chat on the phone.
