Therapist Short Bio

Hello, I’m Judith, an experienced and qualified Counsellor and a Registered Nurse. My mission here is to offer you the time and the space to explore why you are here today. I have experience of working in the NHS as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. In 2010 I gained an MSc in Counselling Psychology. My experience as a Counsellor began in 2008 where I spent eight years working in a NHS Staff Support Service, in 2016 I made the decision to move into Private Practice

My decision to train as a Counsellor was guided by my nursing background. Working as a Registered Nurse in a busy NHS organisation. I noticed how there was a need to understand the relationship between how we view our health and how that is linked with our sense of who we are.  Additionally, I have first hand experience of working in a large organisation and understand the stresses and the pressures that can bring to the staff across the workplace.

We all have times in our  lives where we might struggle and would like to seek the support of others. Life throws challenges and questions at us from many directions.   Counselling can help you to explore these questions with someone who is not a relative or a friend, a safe, confidential and impartial space which is yours. My aim as a counsellor is to offer you a safe & confidential  space, where you feel heard and understood. We  will work together as you gather &  gain your  own ‘life toolbox’ and feel more able and equipped to embrace life’s challenges and questions.

Do you believe that through gaining an understanding around your life experiences,  exploring what they might mean to you on an individual level, is a move to help you understand the reasons why you might be seeking counselling?
