EFA is not a suicide/crisis line

If you are in crisis, having suicidal thoughts or are in active suicide please contact the Samaritans on 116 123, call your GP or get to your nearest A&E if you can.

Confidentiality and restrictions within it

Whatever topic you bring to your EFA session will be confidential between you and your therapist. Therapy Finders will never record or store any EFA sessions.

Therapy Finders EFA therapists all adhere to ethical guidelines which means that they are all required to have a clinical supervisor. They may discuss EFA sessions with their supervisor, but your personal details will not be disclosed and anything that could identify you will be kept anonymous.

The only time where a Therapy Finders EFA therapist will have to break confidentiality is if they believe you are going to cause harm to yourself or others or if you mention terrorism or money laundering. If it is necessary for your EFA therapist to break confidentiality they will contact Therapy Finders and we will contact the emergency services using the contact details you have provided us when signing up for an EFA session.

If an EFA therapist is concerned about your emotional state but you haven’t said anything to warrant breaking confidentiality they may ask you if you would like them to contact anyone on your behalf i.e. your GP, a friend or family member. You will need to provide your therapist with the relevant details to be able to do this.
