This week is Mental Health Awareness Week (Mon 13 – Sun 19 May) and we’ve teamed up with local company, Chelmsford For You, on a joint campaign to promote the week and start the conversation around Mental Health.

Did you know, a 2018 study by Mind revealed that two in three GPs saw an increase in patients seeking mental health support. The survey also found that around two in every five GP appointments are about mental health. In a recent study by UKCP, they found that 42% of people they asked had improved their mental health with psychotherapy and counselling.

We believe that Mental Health Awareness Week is about trying to help people feel supported and safe enough to ask for help when they need it. It’s about teaching the wider community that asking for help takes great strength and is not a weakness, as is so often the incorrect label assigned to mental health struggles. It’s about showing people that there is hope, help and happiness if you just take that first step to getting support.
